Earn Graduate-Level Professional Development Semester Units/Credits For Your Completion of Orton Gillingham Training or Workshops by OG Instruction

Please Note: You must wait until you have completed the Orton Gillingham Workshop/Training and have received your Certificate of Completion before you register!

Two Simple Steps:

Step 1 – GET TO KNOW THE POLICIES OF YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT

Get to know the policies of your school district regarding graduate-level professional growth courses, due dates, etc.:
Some districts require prior approval and some don’t. Districts vary in policy regarding whether or not they require official transcripts, and districts have different turn-in dates for salary advancement.

It is your responsibility to know your own district’s policies regarding dates you must submit grade reports for salary advancement and regarding their policy in accepting grade reports versus official transcripts. Please contact your personnel department for information.

Please note: It typically takes 6 – 8 weeks to obtain a transcript from the Registrar, so please plan to register for credit with Courses4Teachers Inc. with this time frame in mind.

What information to provide your district should you need prior approval:
Generally, districts ask for the name of the university, the course title, and course number. If additional information is requested, you may add that all our University of the Pacific courses are Graduate-Level, Professional Development courses, designed as professional growth for teachers. The University of the Pacific is accredited with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. See the section below General Information Regarding Unit/Credit for more specific information about the type of credit we offer.

Step 2REGISTRATION

WE RECOMMEND YOU REGISTER FOR CREDIT UP TO 12 MONTHS AFTER COMPLETING AN ORTON GILLINGHAM COURSE.  However, by special request, we may accept registrations for courses completed more than one year later, given you have a Certificate of Completion.

Send in the registration form, with payment and Certificate of Completion from OG Instruction, to Courses4Teachers Inc.

The registration process is quick and easy. The cost is only $99 per graduate-level professional development unit/credit.

OG Instruction offers many different educational trainings/workshops. They are listed below with information on the number of credits you may earn for each educational program.

CREDIT FOR THE ASSOCIATE LEVEL COURSE – COURSEWORK

This program requires a minimum of 64 hours of professional development work.  You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for 4 graduate-level professional development semester credits with a Certificate of Completion. No extra work is required.  

As all our courses are available for one, two, or three credits, you will select two different course titles from the list below if you wish a total of 4 credits. You will register for one course for 3 credits and register for another course for one credit. Your 3-unit cost will be $297. The one-unit course registration will be for $99.

CREDIT FOR THE ASSOCIATE LEVEL COURSE – PRACTICUM

This requires a minimum of 100 hours of professional development work.  You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for up to 6 units of graduate-level professional development semester credit with a Certificate of Completion. No extra work is required. For 6 units of credit, you will register for two 3-unit courses, selecting any two-course titles from the list below.  Each registration for three units will be made separately; each 3-unit registration cost will be $297.

CREDIT FOR THE CLASSROOM EDUCATOR LEVEL – COURSEWORK

This requires 35 hours of professional development credit. You may register for two graduate-level professional development semester credits with a Certificate of Completion. No extra work is required. You will register by selecting any course title listed below for two credits at a total cost of $198.

CREDIT FOR CLASSROOM EDUCATOR PRACTICUM

This requires a minimum of 50 hours of professional development coursework. You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for three graduate-level professional development semester credits with Certificate of Completion. No extra work is required. You will register by selecting any course title listed below and register for three credits, at a total cost of $297.

CREDIT FOR THE CERTIFIED LEVEL COURSEWORK

This requires a minimum of 100 hours of professional development work.  You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for up to 6 units of graduate-level professional development semester credit with a Certificate of Completion. No extra work is required. For six units, you will register for two 3-unit courses, selecting any two-course titles from the list below. Each registration for three units will be made separately; each 3-unit registration cost will be $297. You must submit your Certificate of Completion with each registration.

CREDIT FOR THE CERTIFIED LEVEL PRACTICUM

This requires 200 hours of professional development work. You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for 6 graduate-level professional development semester credits with a Certificate of Completion. You may register with Courses4Teachers Inc. for 13 graduate-level professional development semester credits with a Certificate of Completion. 

To registration for 13 credits:
1) You will need to register for four courses, each for 3 credits. The cost with each of the four registrations will be $297. You must select four different course titles for each of these registrations. Plan to submit your Certificate of Completion with each of the registrations.

2) You will also register for an additional course for one credit. The one-unit course will cost $99. You must select a course title for the list below. You cannot select a title you have used previously for any registration. Plan to submit your Certificate of Completion with this one-unit registration.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Each course requires a separate registration and a different course title.

You may select from any of the titles listed below. We know teachers multi-task so no title will ever match all the work you have done. 

Simply select a title that most fits with your coursework that the title you would like most on your transcript.

You may not select a title for more than one registration. Once you have selected a course title you may NOT use that title again for any future registrations.

  • PEDU: 9198: Kinesthetic And Creative Teaching Techniques For Effective Classroom Management
  • PEDU: 9240 Teaching Common Core Standards Effectively
  • PEDU: 9403: Culturally Responsive Teaching

General information regarding graduate-level professional development units/credits with the University of the Pacific:
States across the U.S. have different terminology to label this type of graduate-level professional development units/credits. It can be referred to as “professional growth,” “post bachelor’s credit,” “continuing education,” “graduate units,” “graduate hours,” or “graduate credits.”

Regardless of the terminology, and in light of some confusion with semantics among different states, we want to make it clear that these graduate-level professional development courses are designed for professional growth and are available to teachers across the U.S. These courses will be listed on a University of the Pacific transcript. These courses are designed for salary advancement and to renew credentials. The courses are not designed towards the attainment of an advanced degree. You are advised to check with your state board or attending university, prior to registering, if you wish to apply these graduate-level professional development units/credits towards the attainment of specialty credentials. There are no refunds.

Grades and Transcript Information:
After you have mailed in your registration, a Certificate of Completion, a log of work and documentation, a confirmation of your grade will be emailed to you, from our Courses4Teachers Inc. office on University letterhead within 5 business days. You will receive an unofficial transcript from the University of the Pacific Registrar in about 6 – 8 weeks. A few school districts require the unofficial transcript from the University for graduate-level professional development units/credits and salary increment credit. Most school districts require a formal, embossed, sealed Official Transcript.
